SHOULD I PURCHASE A PREOWNED BUS?
Our mini buses and mid-size buses go through a thorough inspection. We either repair or replace items that don’t pass our inspection. Some parts like alternators, starters, water pumps, power steering pumps, pulley bearings, brake calipers and pads, steering stabilizers, we replace automatically so that you know they will last. If the bus is outfitted with a Ricon or Braun wheelchair lift, it is tested and inspected and repaired if necessary. Other parts like wheel covers, ball joints and tires are replaced 95% of the time. Only if they are almost new do we leave them. We also paint some of our mini to midsize shuttle buses so that there will be no overlooked blemishes on the bus. All Buses are detailed.
Keep in mind that we do accept trade-ins.

DIESEL OR GAS, WHICH IS BEST FOR A BUS?
Contrary to the truth, much of the general public believe that having a gas bus is the best decision, thinking that it is easier to work on and to find a mechanic. There are reasons why 95% of the professional transportation industry buy diesel: less maintenance, longevity, and fuel mileage.
• Even though diesels cost more, the professionals still prefer diesel.
• Consider this, with 100,000 miles the diesel is still considered “Low Mileage.”
• Yes, there are plenty of diesel mechanics. Diesels have become so popular in light duty trucks, that most dealerships have diesel mechanics that can work on the engines used in most small to mid-sized buses.
In determining whether to purchase a gas or diesel bus, keep in mind what the use of your bus will be. If you have short routes or will be idling for long periods of time, this too needs to be taken into consideration. Just discuss it with one of our salespeople and we shall help you chose the most efficient engine for your needs.
LUGGAGE, SHOULD I HAVE LUGGAGE SPACE IN MY BUS?
It all depends on whether you will be using it primarily for overnight trips. If not, you can always put your luggage on seats for the occasional overnight trip, but just remember, you can’t sit in a luggage compartment! In most cases we can add a luggage area or remove it.
GRAPHICS, CAN YOU ADD CUSTOM GRAPHICS TO MY BUS?
Atlantic Bus Sales also offers Graphic Design to complete and compliment your bus purchase. Whether you need your organization’s logo and lettering, a full wrap or custom graphics, our graphics design department is ready to assist with this process.

ARE PASSENGER VANS SAFER THAN SMALL-SIZE BUSES?
For passenger vans there is a very high risk for rollover according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Association, and as a result hundreds of lives have been lost in recent years. Instead, consider purchasing a 14 or less passenger bus. You do not need a CDL Driver for buses holding 14 or less passengers.
VAN ROLLOVER RISKS, WHAT DO YOU KNOW ABOUT PASSENGER VAN RISKS?
Part of the reason for an increase in shuttle bus sales was the determination by the National Transportation Safety Board that the 15 passenger van, due to its tendency to roll over during reflex traffic maneuvers or tire blow outs, was an unsafe vehicle. After the 15 passenger van was declared dangerous, the insurance industry stepped in and either canceled or raised their rates on van policies. Thus, the mini to midsize bus became very popular. Because of the lower center of gravity there is less likelihood of a rollover, making it the safer vehicle.
