''I like to introduce basic musicianship skills into my lessons so that students learn to understand rhythm, harmony and the basics of constructing melody. I use a Method Book for students who are interested in learning how to read music and recommend this approach to beginners. Otherwise, for older students interested in developing a particular style I tailor my lessons to the students interest making use of the computer program Transcribe to slow down audio; Apple Logic for music notation, and YouTube to listen to versions of songs.'' |
Stephen just completed his Masters degree in Arts Education at SFU and also brings his background of Music Therapy studies to his already diverse guitar background. Whether you are interested in Fingerpicking, Jazz, or Rock or if you are just starting out, Stephen has had experience with it all.
